How long does it take to walk through the Colosseum

Visiting Rome is an experience that must not be rushed. With its iconic squares, charming streets, and vibrant facades, the city is sure to capture the heart of any visitor. 

So, how long does it take to walk through the Colosseum? To get a good feel for the Colosseum, plan to spend at least an hour, including time for photos and selfies. To get the most out of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and other nearby attractions, it is recommended to spend a minimum of half a day. However, if you want to take your time and admire the archaeological marvels in more detail, you may want to extend the duration of your visit. Additionally, it is worth taking a stroll around the outside of the Colosseum, which takes about 20 minutes, for a full view of the structure. For a spectacular view, take the stairs up to the Monti district, just above the Colosseo metro stop. If you have not pre-purchased tickets, remember to factor in up to a couple of hours of waiting time at the ticket office.
